LMC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lennar (NYSE: LEN, and LEN.B), and a leader in apartment development and operations, today announced that it was named as the nation’s third largest developer of multifamily housing in 2016 by the National Multifamily Housing Council.

LMC started 6,244 apartment homes in 2016 to earn the No. 3 ranking on NMHC’s Apartment Developers List. The five-year-old company has ranked among the Top 10 developers for the last three years, increasing from sixth place in 2015 with 4,565 starts. Additionally, for the first time, LMC also appeared on NMHC’s list of largest general contractors of multifamily housing, ranking ninth in the nation. The company was the general contractor for approximately 50 percent of its 2016 starts.

“We are truly honored to be included among such an esteemed group and thankful for our amazing associates who have enabled us to grow,” said Todd Farrell, president of LMC. “Our focus, regardless of quantity, will be to develop quality apartment homes that residents are proud to call home. We look forward to a solid 2017 as apartment demand continues to outpace growth.”

NMHC has become the authoritative rankings in the multifamily industry. The council currently ranks the nation’s 50 largest apartment owners, 50 largest apartment managers, 25 largest apartment developers, 25 largest general contractors and 10 largest apartment syndicators.

LMC, a leader in apartment development and operations, this week was named a Finance & Commerce 2017 Progress Minnesota honoree. LMC was honored at an awards ceremony at the Minneapolis Events Center and profiled this week in a special edition of Finance & Commerce newspaper.

The Progress Minnesota 2017 awards program celebrates the accomplishments of individuals and companies that are making an economic impact across the state in unique and innovative ways. LMC was the only multifamily developer among the 25 companies honored.

“We love the Twin Cities and the state of Minnesota, and we’re honored to be recognized alongside several of the finest businesses and individuals in the region,” said Todd Farrell, president of LMC. “Minnesota is something of a hidden gem as it is seldom mentioned among the marquee markets, but we’ve really been enamored with the area, its strong economy and its fine people. As always with development, we strive to ensure everything we do has a positive impact on the neighborhood and the surrounding area.”

LMC began leasing at two of its Minnesota-based developments in 2016, and another will open its doors to residents this year. IndiGO at BCS, featuring 395 apartment homes in Bloomington, and Onyx Edina, a 240-unit mixed-use community in Edina, began leasing in 2016. Minneapolis-based Nordhaus, an urban high-rise to feature 280 apartment homes and ground-floor retail, will open this year.

Finance & Commerce, the only daily publication dedicated exclusively to business in the Twin Cities area, worked on the awards program with several chambers, economic development officials and government agencies focused on job creation and development. Those helping drive industrial growth and development, while investing time and energy for the betterment of the Twin Cities and the state, were honored.

“We cannot overstate the extremely enjoyable time we’ve had working with the neighborhoods and local and state officials on all three of our Minnesota communities” said Jon Fletcher, senior development manager for LMC. “It’s our mission not only to provide an unmatched experience for our residents, but also to help make a positive economic impact. We’re excited to do our part for the Twin Cities area and the state as a whole.”

LMC, a leader in apartment development and operations, today announced the topping out of The 23, a mixed-use development located in the heart of the emerging Victory Park neighborhood.

The amenity-driven community will feature 23 residential floors, 285 apartment homes, 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas–Victory Park, an eight-screen, 700-seat luxury movie theater. Preleasing of apartment homes is set to begin in May with first move-ins anticipated for August. Restaurants, retail and the cinema are slated to open in December.

“We’re excited to reach this milestone, as it means we’re inching closer to our goal of officially adding much needed luxury housing to the fantastic Victory Park neighborhood,” said John Allums, Texas divisional president of LMC. “The area’s newfound vibrancy has created buzz throughout the Dallas market, and we believe it’s perfect timing to add an amenity-rich community that will deliver a first-class experience for our residents.”

Future residents of the community, located at 2370 Victory Avenue, will enjoy sweeping views of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, Reunion Tower, American Airlines Center and Downtown Dallas. The community will cater to urban apartment-home dwellers who crave an unprecedented live-work-play environment, top-of-market amenities and neighborhood conveniences.

The 23 will consist of studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartment homes. Penthouse suites will also be available and will be located on the top two levels. Community amenities, located on the eighth floor, will include a club-quality fitness center, resort-inspired swimming pool, 8,000-square-foot sun deck, full-scale catering kitchen, dining room, Wi-Fi-enabled lounge areas and private workspaces. The community will also offer residents Lutron Dream Suite packages in the penthouse homes, allowing for easy home automation via any smartphone.

Apartment interiors will feature hardwood flooring, quartz countertops, stainless steel GE Profile appliances, glass tile backsplashes, front-loading washers and dryers, custom lighting, Elfa shelving, Moen fixtures and keyless entry. Select homes will include wine refrigerators, digital shower controls, built-in desk areas and oversized balconies.

LMC, a leader in apartment development and operations, today announced it has broken ground on The Whitney, a mixed-use apartment community located in the heart of Flagler Village.

The community, which will feature 386 apartment homes and 2,012 square feet of ground-floor retail space, will be amenity-driven and commuter-friendly with immediate access to several key thoroughfares. First move-ins are anticipated for summer 2018.

“We’re extremely excited to be part of the Flagler Village neighborhood, which has steadily become one of the most vibrant places to live in the city over the past decade,” said David Canfield, vice president of development for LMC for the Florida area. “The Whitney is close to the beach, numerous cultural attractions and nightlife destinations. It’s clear why a growing number of young professionals are relocating to the area. We believe The Whitney’s first-class amenities and modern conveniences will immediately make it the area’s premier community.”

Among the transit-oriented conveniences at The Whitney will be a Wave Streetcar stop, allowing residents to connect easily with the dining, shopping and entertainment options available in downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition, an All Aboard Florida/Brightline express train station will be less than three blocks west of the community, which is situated at 120 NE 4th street just north of Broward Boulevard. The train will provide convenient access from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Residents who prefer to drive will be within minutes of Interstate 95 and US Route 1.

The Flagler Village/Downtown Fort Lauderdale area is home to several prominent employers, including AutoNation, Citrix Systems, DHL Express and several financial institutions. The MASS District (Music & Arts South of Sunrise) and Flagler Arts and Technology District also are contained within Flagler Village. Nearby attractions include Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, Central Beach, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Discovery and Science, Holiday Park and Savor Cinema, a year-round art movie theater featuring three bars and concessions.

The Whitney consists of studio, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 512 to 1,424 square feet. Amenities at the smoke-free community include a club-quality fitness center, resort-inspired swimming pool and a pet park. Residents will have access to LMC’s Signature Resident Services and the Lennar Perk Program, which includes a percentage of rental payment portions used towards the purchase of a Lennar home. Apartment interiors will feature quartz countertops, custom cabinetry and beautiful interior design.

LMC, a leader in apartment development and operations, this month was named Best Place to Work in Multifamily 2017 by Best Companies Group. The award was presented at the Multifamily Leadership Summit in Scottsdale, Ariz.

LMC, a real estate development company launched by Miami-based homebuilder Lennar in 2011, emerged from a field of 14 finalists to earn the honor. The award recognizes the company that has established and consistently fostered an outstanding work environment.

“This is a tremendous honor and genuinely reflects the atmosphere we’ve worked so hard to cultivate,” said Todd Farrell, president of LMC. “It’s our mission to provide an incredible living experience that our residents can’t find anywhere else, and that starts with our people. We infuse our culture with spirit, enthusiasm and passion to make LMC a great place to work with amazing people.”

The 14 finalists were ranked after a rigorous assessment process by Best Companies Group. Employee policies and procedures were evaluated, as well as responses from the company’s employees. The award is part of The 2017 Best Places to Work in Multifamily program that is part of a long-term initiative to encourage growth and excellence throughout the industry and attract new leaders.

The program also helps companies that want to improve their cultures by offering an employee feedback report for each participating company, even if the company was not among the finalists.

“When we hire associates and bring them onboard, we want to know them on a much deeper level than their skills and experience,” Farrell said. “We want to know who they really are on the inside and if they’re a great cultural fit with our values as an organization. By hiring the right people, maintaining a fun and challenging work environment and working together to be the best, we’ve created a culture where talented people love to work.”

Ram Realty Services and LMC are pleased to announce the sale of  Midtown 205 to an undisclosed institutional investor.  Midtown 205 is a 261-unit apartment community with 8,630 square feet of ground-floor retail space conveniently located in the popular Midtown neighborhood.

Ram and LMC formed a joint venture partnership in 2013 to develop the community in a pedestrian-friendly location alongside Metropolitan, Midtown’s premier shopping plaza just minutes from downtown Charlotte. The project broke ground in early 2014 and delivered the first units in late 2015.

“Demand for high-quality apartment housing continues to grow in the popular Midtown submarket, and Midtown 205 made the most of it, consistently outperforming its closest competitors,” said Jennifer Stull, Managing Director of Asset Management for Ram. “Its trend-setting design and walkable location made it one of the most desirable communities to both residents and potential buyers in the region. We’re pleased with the sale and look forward to finding new opportunities to continue investing in the thriving Charlotte market.”

Residents at Midtown 205 have easy access to an array of popular dining, shopping and entertainment destinations at Metropolitan, including Pisces Sushi Bar & Lounge, Vivace, Dressler’s, Target, Trader Joe's, West Elm and more. Also within close proximity of Midtown 205 are the Charlotte streetcar, the Little Sugar Creek Greenway trails, Interstate 277, and US Route 74, providing fast access to Uptown, South End, and other outlying neighborhoods.

In addition to its convenient location, Midtown 205 offers residents a variety of lifestyle-enhancing features and amenities. A shimmering courtyard swimming pool, outdoor kitchen with a flat-screen TV and fireplace, and a modern fitness center with separate yoga and cycling rooms headline the amenities. Inside the apartment homes, residents enjoy custom-designed cabinetry, 9+ foot ceilings, stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, light-filled interiors and dramatic skyline views in select units.

“Midtown 205 combines proximity to Uptown employers and some of Charlotte’s finest residential neighborhoods with unparalleled walkability to retail and restaurant options,” said Jeff Harris, LMC’s division president for the Carolinas. “We believe it will continue to add value for the neighborhood, the new owners and its residents for years to come.”
