Headquartered in Reno, Nevada, CloudTen Residential, a new forward-thinking multifamily management firm, is now open and operating a growing portfolio in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

 

Run by a team of 130 employees, the newly launched venture specializes in the full range of property management functions, including acquisition and advisory services, maintenance, leasing and marketing – overseeing 32 properties throughout the west.

Founded by the principals of San Diego-based Sunrise Management, CloudTen Residential was formed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide a more streamlined, customized and tech-driven approach to multifamily management.  

Jessica Weil has been named regional vice president of CloudTen Residential, a newly-formed Nevada-based firm that manages and operates multifamily properties throughout the West.

 

According to Melissa Deen, president of CloudTen, in her new role, Weil is responsible for supervising multiple employees as well as a range of multifamily properties throughout the Nevada region – requiring extensive leadership skills, oversight and successful team member development.

 

“With a passion for innovation, Jessica has considerable experience in complex multifamily operations, and we are thrilled to have her join our fast-growing, visionary team,” Deen said. “CloudTen has taken a more nimble, technology-forward approach to multifamily operations, and Jessica will provide the forward-thinking leadership we need as we expand in the Nevada marketplace.”

Weil was most recently a regional property manager for Cushman & Wakefield’s Las Vegas offices, overseeing a portfolio of 5,488 units and spearheading the day-to-day operations and profitability of numerous multifamily communities. She was also a regional property manager for Greystar Real Estate Partners, supervising 35 employees and overseeing 1,500 units. With over 10 years of experience in the multifamily industry, she has worked for Dasmen Residential, Pinnacle Property Management and Fairfield Residential.

She holds both master’s and Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology from the University of Phoenix and is a member of the Nevada Apartment Association and the NAACP. Fluent in Spanish, she is a certified apartment manager (CAM).

San Diego-based Sunrise Management – a multifamily industry leader which has specialized in the management of residential real estate since 1978 – has announced the appointment of Michelle Lucey as its new its chief people officer.

 

A seasoned human resources executive, Lucey was most recently the corporate director of human resources at Excel Hotel Group, where she was charged with developing and executing human resource initiatives for a growing organization that owns and operates 24 select-service hotels across California and Colorado.

 

According to Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise Management, in her new role Lucey will be a core part of the Sunrise Management executive team, responsible for managing and directing the human resources department and leading the development and advancement of the company’s business strategy and culture.

 

“Michelle’s extensive expertise in all facets of human resources, from performance management to designing HR initiatives to talent acquisition, will be critical as we continue to expand our presence throughout the west,” said Greenblatt. “A solutions-oriented and pragmatic professional, her leadership, insight and strategic guidance will be fundamental to our company’s continued growth.”

 

With 20 years of human resources experience, Lucey was also director of human resources for Omni Hotels and Resorts as well as complex director of human resources for Hilton Worldwide. She was also an adjunct professor in the HR Certificate program at UC San Diego.

 

She earned a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from UC Santa Barbara. An active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), she is an SPHR-Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.

San Diego-Based Firm Adds 103 Portland Units to Portfolio

Portland-based Urban Asset Advisors (UAA) has tapped Sunrise Management – whichhas specialized in the management of residential real estate since 1978 – to direct all leasing and day-to-day operations for three Portland area multifamily properties: Artisan Apartments, Abernethy Flats and Broadway Flats. 

 

Totaling 103 units, all three communities – owned by UAA – are newly upgraded and located in the downtown Portland area. Highlights include:

 

  • Artisan Apartments, 3301 SE Division St. Portland – 54 beautifully appointed studio and one-bedroom apartments developed by UAA in 2020.
  • Abernethy Flats, 2014 SE 11th Ave, Portland – 35 spacious and light filled studio and one-bedroom apartment homes developed by UAA in 2019.
  • Broadway Flats, 2007 NE Broadway – Portland,14 studio and one- bedroom apartment homes built in 2013.

 

According to Dennis Mitchell, regional vice president for Sunrise Management, his company has a rapidly growing Portland presence now encompassing 19 properties and 1,271 units. “We are thrilled to partner with UAA – one of the region’s top developers – on these class A projects,” he said. “Portland has a robust multifamily market and we look forward to further expanding our portfolio here.”

 

 

Hector Rodela Appointed Regional VP

 

Sunrise Management, which has specialized in managing multifamily properties since 1978, has announced the addition of Hector Rodela as the new regional vice president in its San Diego headquarters. Rodela takes charge of overseeing all property management functions – including capital improvements on existing properties, new construction, lease-ups, renovations and value add acquisitions – as well as expanding the company’s portfolio in the Southern California region.

 

Rodela was previously a senior regional portfolio manager of San Diego operations at ConAm Management Corp. where he worked for more than 10 years and was ultimately in charge of over 100 on-site associates, six corporate associates, 25 properties and more than 3,600 units.

 

“Hector’s extensive experience in property management is invaluable to our team as we continue to expand our footprint throughout California,” said Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise. “He has not only a superb knowledge of this region but also a deep understanding of the multifamily industry – with considerable expertise at managing people.”

 

Rodela holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational and corporate communications from the University of Texas at El Paso. Additionally, he studied business management and tourism in Spain and culture development in France. He volunteered as a community developer for underdeveloped communities in Tecate, Mexico, for Capaz, a nonprofit organization, and has also volunteered for Community Housing Works and Price Philanthropies.

San Diego-Based Firm Adds Four Multifamily Properties Locally

Expanding its local presence, San Diego-based Sunrise Management, which has specialized in managing multifamily properties since 1978, has added four San Diego multifamily communities totaling 336 units to its portfolio.

 

The firm currently has regional offices in Sacramento, Las Vegas, Portland and Phoenix with a portfolio of more than 13,000 units throughout the west. 

 

According to Sunrise CEO and president Joe Greenblatt, his company will assume the marketing, leasing and day-to-day operations of the following San Diego properties:

 

  • Mellmanor, 170 units in La Mesa
  • Villa Morocco, 107 units in La Mesa
  • Cajon Villa, 34 units in El Cajon
  • Hillcrest Palms, 25 Units in Hillcrest

 

With these latest additions, Sunrise now oversees 139 properties and 5,455 units throughout San Diego County, said Greenblatt.

 

 

“These new properties expand our San Diego presence, where we have operated for more than 40 years, positioning us for further growth throughout the region,” Greenblatt said.
