LIVEbe, a premier apartment developer and operator, today announced that The Remy, a 278-unit midrise apartment community in the Harkins District of Prince George’s County, was recently honored with a slew of 2021 awards from the Property Management Association.
The Remy, which began leasing in 2017 and recently began preleasing on a second phase, won the Property Management Association’s 2021 Pace Award for Best in Show for market-rate communities in the $1,700 to $1,799 rent tier. The community was also recognized with four marketing and advertising excellence (MAE) awards.
Additionally, Fran Bennett, senior community director at LIVEbe's Glen Oaks community in Greenbelt, Md., won the Making A Difference award for her extensive community service efforts. Dennis Swaim, maintenance supervisor at The Bowen (Bowie, Md.), was named Maintenance Supervisor of the Year. Resident survey feedback has indicated that the prompt maintenance service from The Bowen team has been a deterministic factor in the decision to renew leases.

LIVEbe, which recently celebrated its five-year anniversary, was prominently recognized in the marketing and advertising excellence categories after an active year. The company’s MAE Awards included an Amenity award for The Remy R Crafts (in which LIVEbe created craft rooms for residents on several floors); a Marketing Campaign award for The Remy Rebranding Campaign; a Pandemic Response Award for the The Remy Work It Challenge; and a Promotional Item award for the community’s Wednesday Wine Down Grab’n Go Giveaway.
“With many residents still tethered to their homes more than usual, we had to continue to be creative in providing social outlets and other resident-facing initiatives,” De Lude said. “As such, we created a new position last year to facilitate all our resident events and elevate the resident experiences at our communities. Our team of ambassadors was amazing in curating a one-of-a-kind resident experience while also continuing to foster a unique team-centric vibe that fostered collaboration and a unique work environment.”
Positioned at 7730 Harkins Road, The Remy features a rooftop lounge, hydrotherapeutic saltwater pool, gamer’s gallery and telecommuting spaces among its exclusive package of amenities. The community won a Delta Associates Excellence Award in the category of Best Lease-Up Pace for a Suburban Maryland Apartment Community in 2018.
The Remy Phase II will offer a similarly contemporary array of amenities, including a resort-style saltwater pool and sundeck, rooftop lounge, two courtyards, outdoor fitness equipment, Smiota package lockers, refrigerated lockers and resident lounge areas throughout the common areas. Residents of each community will have access to two of everything, including two pools, two fitness center and two rooftop lounges.
