The Grand at Twin Lakes, an upscale, resort-style independent living senior housing community located in Palatine in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, celebrated its three-year anniversary on Oct. 23.

Northwest Highway, The Grand at Twin Lakesis a 118-unit independent senior living community with studio and one-bedroom apartments that includes 24-hour, on-site medical staffing. Different from many other senior living options, residents pay for an independent apartment, which includes some services, such as two meals a day and weekly housekeeping, while a la carte healthcare services are available through Advent Home Health Services, Inc. Residents can select from a variety of services that benefit their daily health and wellness such as laundry, medication management and assistance with bathing.According to Pokorny, offering services if and when needed provides a sensible, scalable, cost-effective option that suits the lifestyle of many independent seniors.

The Grand is designed to encourage activity and engagement for residents, with 39% of the building dedicated to amenity space, including a movie theater, two libraries, game rooms, prayer room, salon, lobby bar and outdoor courtyard and garden. In addition, the community is adjacent to the Twin Lakes Golf Course & Recreation area, available to residents for walking, fishing, golfing and myriad community events and activities throughout the seasons.
