Mill Creek Announces Grand Opening of Second Phase at Modera Douglas Station

01 March 2018

Mill Creek Residential, a leading multifamily investor and operator specializing in premier apartment communities across the U.S., today announced the grand opening of the second phase of Modera Douglas Station, which accompanies the original community that began leasing in 2015.

Modera Douglas Station's second phase contains 181 apartment homes, adding to the 262 homes in the first phase. Built with a modern architectural design to complement its predecessor, the second phase consists of an eight-story building and features a five-story parking garage on the west side. A pool deck and three stories of apartment homes are located above the parking structure. Apartment homes are now available for immediate move-ins.

"While we were delighted to open Modera Douglas Station in 2015, Phase II truly symbolizes the completion of the apartment community," said Jeff Meran, senior managing director of South Florida for Mill Creek Residential. "We're situated alongside one of the hottest submarkets in the country in Coral Gables/Merrick Park, and we believe our community will exceed resident expectations in this vibrant area that features a little bit of everything."

Named for its proximity along the Douglas Station MetroRail stop at 3760 Bird Road, the community is situated in close proximity to two major Class A office hubs. With the Coral Gables free trolley system and Miami-Dade Metrobus also located nearby, the community is commuter-friendly and provides residents with prime access to Downtown Miami, the Brickell Avenue employment corridor and Miami International Airport. In addition, the main campus of the University of Miami is one mile from the community.

The Miami area features an abundance of international banking and business outlets, cultural centers and a vast contingent of entertainment, shopping and dining opportunities, many of which are nearby the community, which boasts a Walk Score of 88. Included is the Village of Merrick Park, known for its hip shops and restaurants, and soon-to-come park - The Underline. The Underline is an initiative by the city to transform the land below the MetroLine into a 10-mile linear park, urban trail and living art destination. Coconut Grove, another popular lifestyle and shopping hub, is located one mile northeast of the community.

Modera Douglas Station Phase II consists of studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartment homes ranging in square footage from 502 to 1,250. Community amenities include a second resort-style pool, second fitness studio, sauna and massage room, sports lounge, 24-hour package lockers, business center and Wi-Fi in social hubs. A pedestrian promenade between the community's two phases exudes a Main Street feel with lighting and landscaping and links to the MetroRail station. Residents also have access to convenient amenities in Phase I such as a pet spa, resident clubhouse with kitchen and a bike room with repair station.

Apartment interiors include upscale finishes, elevated 9-to-12-foot ceilings, chef's islands, porcelain tile flooring, quartz countertops, upgraded stainless-steel appliances, front-loading washers and dryers, contemporary ceiling fans and modern light fixtures.

Including Modera Douglas Station Phase II, Mill Creek has developed or began development on eight apartment communities in South Florida, totaling 4,554 homes.
