Sunrise Management Expands Portland Office

Expanding its new Portland office, San Diego-based Sunrise Management, which has specialized in managing multifamily properties since 1978, has added Amy Cleveland as its newest regional real estate manager. In her new role, Cleveland oversees a rapidly expanding portfolio of value add and class A properties throughout the Portland market.

“Amy has an excellent track record in the Portland market as well as extensive experience in operations management, team training and development, property acquisitions/disposition and budgeting/forecasting,” said Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise Management. “Her considerable expertise will be instrumental as we continue to expand throughout the Pacific Northwest.”

An accomplished real estate professional, Cleveland has fifteen years of property management experience – including the administration of various mixed-use projects, lease-ups, value add and stabilized urban and suburban communities. She was most recently area property manager for Portland’s The Spanos Company, where she devised and implemented policies and procedures to ensure seamless property management activities for properties throughout Oregon.

She also worked as a regional property manager for Greystar's Portland offices and worked with Riverstone Residential Group as a property manager.

PORTLAND AREA’S 12 MILE CROSSING COMMUNITY NEARS COMPLETION

Construction on the Portland area’s 12 Mile Crossing, an 82-unit multifamily project, is nearing completion – with San Diego-based Sunrise Management taking over the lease-up and day-to-day management activities.

Developed in partnership between McKenzie River Company and Gibbins Kaplan Development LLC, the new three-story community consists of four buildings on 3.42 acres and is located at 588 Southeast 217th Ave., in Gresham, Oregon – just 12 miles east of Portland.

Featuring one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 600 to 1,155 square feet, the community features clean lines with light finishes and quality materials. With an open concept floor plan, each home has large closets, expansive windows, luxury wood inspired flooring, modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and LED lighting throughout. Community amenities include an open space/playground area, dog washing station, package receiving/parcel lockers, common BBQ area, EV charging stations and covered parking. The well-located development is pet friendly – with ample open space.

According to Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise Management, 12 Mile Crossing is much needed and will provide crucial workforce housing for the region.  “Both Gresham and East Multnomah counties are experiencing strong demand for new apartments at this price point, so 12 Mile Crossing fills an important void,” he said.

Located near North Gresham Elementary School as well as major employers, 12 Mile Crossing is ideally situated near major freeways, I-84 and I-205. Rents will range from $1,375 to $2,025.

The construction team included Team Construction and MWA Architects.

Transit Oriented Buzz Golden Hill Development Now Complete

Construction on Buzz Golden Hill, a $9 million urban infill mixed use project, is now complete, with San Diego-based Sunrise Management taking over the lease up and day-to-day management activities.

Developed by Alexander Alemany of Hub & Spoke Communities and Rammy Cortez of Rammy Cortez Urban Infill, the new 36-unit community was completed last month, with the developers adapting a long-term hold strategy.  Located at 1144 30th St., the community accommodates workforce housing in one of San Diego’s core urban neighborhoods, Golden Hill.

Encompassing 24,000 square feet, including traditional apartments, co-living lofts and a restaurant, the project features open floorplans, soaring high ceilings and abundant natural light. The co-living lofts include shared kitchens to encourage a strong social dynamic.

According to Joe Greenblatt, president and CEO of Sunrise Management, Buzz is a transit-oriented development at the forefront of new market rate workforce housing.

“We are proud to oversee the management and lease up for Buzz, which fills a vital housing gap for those who cannot afford downtown luxury living but appreciate the vibrant neighborhood of Golden Hill and the many conveniences of urban life,” Greenblatt said.

Situated at the highest point of Golden Hill, Buzz offers sweeping views of the downtown skyline, San Diego Bay, Coronado Bridge and Tijuana and is within walking distance to the dynamic neighborhood amenities of South Park, downtown San Diego and Golden Hill.

The project architect was TFWA. The construction manager was Elite Builders with Specialty Metal Work by Artist & Exile. A community mural on 30th street was created by local artist, Marvin Madariaga.
