RangeWater Real Estate is thrilled to announce its diamond sponsorship of the 2023 Can Can Ball, the heavily anticipated annual event supporting the largest food drive in the US by way of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. A cherished tradition co-hosted by the Atlanta Apartment Association for over 30 years, the Can Can Ball feeds into the organization’s Food-A-Thon drive each fall to make a significant impact on combating hunger in the Southeast.

The Can Can Ball exemplifies the remarkable influence of collective action in creating positive change. Preceding the main event, a series of engaging activities such as a sip n' stroll through Roswell, GA, and a poker tournament further bolster fundraising efforts. Working in harmony, these events are expected to raise upwards of $25,000. This feeds – pun intended - into the Can Can Ball’s overall goal to donate $800,000 or 3.2M meals.

Every dollar donated provides enough food for four meals, highlighting the incredible impact that each contribution can make in alleviating hunger within our community.

Dana Hill, a passionate advocate for fighting hunger and Co-Chair of the event, expresses the significance of the Can Can Ball stating, "I genuinely believe that it is about changing the trajectory of individuals' lives, which affects the community in which they live and impacts our whole human experience genuinely."

“It's about elevating the dignity of humans, and I think that is something that we can't get enough of right now,” adds Greg Toomey, another tenured supporter and Co-Chair of the Can Can Ball. "While we support this cause because it nurtures the collective and individual organizations, it also holds tremendous importance in recognizing the value of each person."

With an average attendance of 1,000 people, the Can Can Ball is renowned as one of the largest black-tie events in Atlanta, further amplifying its reach and influence in addressing food insecurity. The Can Can Ball will take place on August 25th from 8 PM to midnight at The Stave Room, a Novare events venue in Atlanta. Attendees can look forward to an unforgettable evening of elegance, entertainment, and philanthropy.

First Communities joins the #GivingTuesday Movement

On Tuesday, May 5th, First Communities Management will partner with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to raise funds for the annual #GivingTuesday event.

Atlanta, GA May 5, 2020 -- In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, First Communities Management has joined forces with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to raise funds on #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

“This crisis has impacted so many and we as an organization are fortunate to be able to help, when help is needed the most.  Giving during a time of crisis should not be looked at as a need, it is a must and we wanted to do it in a bold way,” said Mitch Harrison, President and CEO of First Communities Management.

First Communities, headquartered in Atlanta, GA has been an active advocate and partner with the Atlanta Community Food Bank since the nonprofit’s inception in 1979. What started as door-to-door campaign at a single apartment community has now led to First Communities being a regular neighborhood partner of the ACFB, with annual donations and a promise to do more year after year. Each year, the offering grew in size and effort, with First Communities donating $500,000 in 2019.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank, which covers 29 counties in metro Atlanta and North Georgia, is facing unprecedented need during the pandemic. According to recent estimates, there has been a 30 to 40% rise in the number of people getting food from food drives and other emergency sources since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic began in March.

"The Atlanta Community Food Bank's need has significantly increased since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic,'' said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank. "We are thankful to have partnered with First Communities for the past 36 years, and we are even more thankful for the support of our friends at First Communities during this critical time of need."
