UA Builders Group, a NY-based design-build firm, announced today it is working on a new ground-up passive house at 746 East 214th Street in the Bronx.

Developed by Propco Holdings, the four-story building will feature 10 units ranging in size from one- to two-bedrooms. Designed to meet passive house certification, the building will offer superior thermal comfort for residents and up to 90% energy reduction savings. The units also incorporate energy efficient mechanical systems, appliances and fixtures.  The project is currently in the design stage and will be breaking ground soon. Completion is expected for Spring 2019.

Adjacent to Van Courtland Park Golf Course, this prime Williamsbridge neighborhood location features multiple transportation options within close walking distance, as well as a variety of restaurant, hotel and retail offerings.

“While passive house is still in its early stages in the US, it is proving to be the new standard in sustainable design, development and construction,” said Albert Gjonbalaj, CEO of UA Builders Group.  “To be sure, this project will help us to pave the way for passive house development in New York and beyond.”

This project marks the firm’s ninth ground-up project with Propco Holdings. UA Builders was also awarded construction for Bronx projects at 764 East 152nd Street, 915 Dawson Street, 1081 Tiffany Street, 2061-65 Ryer Avenue, 770 East 214th Street, 3254-58 Parkside Place, 1827 Waterloo Place and 3168 Villa Avenue.
