Audubon Communities, an Atlanta-based company specializing in the acquisition, repositioning and management of multifamily properties across the Southeast, has completed $1.1 million in renovations and upgrades at two Class A multifamily communities in Decatur, Georgia.

The capital investment focused on upgrading both communities’ clubhouses to provide a more contemporary and inviting environment for the staff and visitors.  The improvements included all new exterior siding and windows, a complete renovation of the interiors and new fixtures and furniture.  Additional improvements focused on expanding the fitness center, improving ADA access to the office, and new hardscape and softscape around the clubhouse and pool.

“When we acquired the Decatur properties, both were in an advanced state of disrepair and we’re proud to have transformed them into desirable Class A assets,” said Christopher Edwards, managing director of Audubon Communities. “These capital investments continue Audubon’s commitment to upgrading and improving our properties and providing a better experience for residents and their guests. Currently, both properties are 96 percent leased.”

The Decatur properties are located less than one mile apart and include the 168-unit Domain at Cedar Creek and the 164-unit Gateway at Cedar Brook. Since acquiring the properties in January 2013, Audubon has invested a combined $9.8 million – roughly $29,600 per unit – of capital into the communities.
