After formally launching WPD Cares in January 2021, WPD Management, a trusted property management firm operating throughout the south and west sides of Chicago, has successfully given back to its residents and communities while activating its employees to volunteer their time.

“Our motto at WPD is above all else, care. We are committed to building strong and effective relationships with residents, communities served, team members, and clients, which was the catalyst for launching WPD Cares,” said COO Patrick Ryan.

WPD Management has earned a 4.5 star rating on Google Business for a reason. In 2021, WPD Cares provided $22,000 in rent credits to residents that lost their job or had their hours cut due to the pandemic. Another WPD Cares initiative was randomly selecting 100 residents to receive a $50 gift card in a surprise and delight campaign. Over the holidays, a toy drive was hosted at a larger management assignment, and 150 toys were distributed.

Throughout the south and west sides communities, WPD Cares donated nearly $25,000 and formed a new on-going relationship with Humble Design and Untapped Chicago, both missions align with the management firm’s initiative.

The management team also volunteered 108 hours throughout 2021. One benefit WPD Management offers employees is two paid days each year to volunteer. Assistant Director of Maintenance Robert Taylor earned the 2021 WPD Cares Award for his leadership in coordinating volunteer events.

“Each year, we hope to increase the amount of service hours and donations from WPD,” said Ryan. “We look forward to creating further community events and opportunities to help care for one another.”
