Mill Creek Communities Win 2017 NAHB Awards

27 January 2017

Mill Creek Residential, a leading multifamily investor and operator specializing in premier apartment communities across the U.S., today announced that the National Association of Home Builders awarded top honors to two of its recently developed apartment communities.

NAHB named Modera Mosaic (Fairfax, Va.) the Best Mid-Rise Community with the Best Interior Merchandising of Common areas during its Pillars of the Industry awards ceremony. The organization awarded Modera Lofts (Jersey City, NJ) with the Best in American Living Gold Award and second place in the Pillars of the Industry award for Best Adaptive Reuse.

We are committed to designing and building the best communities in the industry to maximize value for our residents, neighborhoods and partners,” said Chip Bay, executive managing director and national practice leader for construction and development at Mill Creek Residential. “It is gratifying to be recognized by the industry and our peers for the diligence and care we put into each and every detail of these outstanding communities.”

Modera Mosaic is an urban twist to contemporary architecture with clean lines, brick-and-metal paneling and upscale features with an open design. Located at the intersection of Gallows Road and Route 29, the community’s studio, loft, 1- and 2-bedroom apartment homes offer an array of engaging amenities, including a rooftop deck, clubhouse and cyber café, fitness center, business center, TV/theater room, hotel-inspired pool, gas grills, private seating areas and a gas fire pit.

Modera Mosaic also benefits from green building technology, including Energy Star Windows, programmable thermostats, low-flow plumbing fixtures and energy-efficient lighting in common areas. The thoughtfully designed apartment home interiors feature European cabinetry, plank-style wood flooring, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and full-size washers and dryers.

Modera Lofts is a restored 110-year-old, eight-story historic warehouse in Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District with 366 luxury apartment homes that boast 12- to 18-foot ceilings. The community references Jersey City’s iconic industrial past with hints of the warehouse’s heritage, including 100-year-old brick, wood beams and columns. Available homes include studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in Jersey City’s burgeoning Powerhouse Arts District.

In addition to common high-end amenities, such as a penthouse lounge and hotel- style rooftop deck with a fireplace, residents enjoy numerous unique, high-value amenities, including a 3,500-square-foot artists’ gallery, artists’ studios for rent and four private offices for resident use. That’s not to mention the club-quality fitness center that includes the latest weight and cardio machines, a stadium-seating spinning studio and a “fit and flex” room, cold food storage, bike storage and a bike repair station. Apartments are fitted with large windows, polished concrete floors, gourmet kitchens with European white cabinetry, under-cabinet lighting and stainless steel, energy-efficient kitchen appliances.

NAHB’s Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards program highlights creative development concepts, innovative financing strategies, great design and superior management and marketing in the apartment and condo marketplace. The annual competition is judged by a jury of knowledgeable peers, each having a proven record of success in various facets of the apartment and condo industry.
