Signal Holdings, LLC, parent company of Signal Restoration Services, headquartered in Troy, Michigan and specializing in large commercial and industrial restoration projects throughout the United States, has acquired Sentinel Group, LLC, a highly-regarded property restoration firm, based in Ardsley, New York , serving the Tri-State region.

“I have known Sentinel owner John Lonergan for almost a decade and have always respected his company’s high level of customer service and integrity. They have a reputation for delivering. This is a major move for Signal in the New York market and beyond.”

Signal Restoration Services, known most notably as the firm brought in by New York City following Superstorm Sandy, has provided restoration and disaster recovery services valued at more than $140 million to New York businesses and institutions during the past five years.

Sentinel Group specializes in emergency response, mitigation and reconstruction of properties damaged by wind, water, fire, mold, and environmental and other types of disasters for customers primarily in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Following the acquisition, the combined companies will have greater operational capacity with plans to expand further into New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions.

“Signal is honored to acquire such a strong company with extensive property restoration experience,” said Signal Restoration Services CEO Mark Davis. “I have known Sentinel owner John Lonergan for almost a decade and have always respected his company’s high level of customer service and integrity. They have a reputation for delivering. This is a major move for Signal in the New York market and beyond.”

Lonergan added, “Today is a great day for everyone at Sentinel Group. We are partnering with a world class company and an ownership group that has led the industry for the past 20 years. We are looking forward to serving our loyal customers in a greater number of markets with a wider range of services due to Signal’s national footprint and large loss operations team.”

The terms of the deal are undisclosed. Lonergan will stay on as managing director of Sentinel Group and will become a minority shareholder of Signal Restoration Services.

This is the second acquisition in the past seven months for Signal Restoration Services owners Davis and business partner Frank Torre. They acquired PuroSystems, Inc. of Tamarac, Florida, a residential and commercial property restoration company operating under the PuroClean brand in more than 240 locations in the US and Canada, in September of 2015.
